I have always been a tool builder. As a former systems consultant to JPMorgan Chase, the Federal Reserve, and Citibank, I honed my skills in systems design, systems and applications programming, teaching, and writing.
To further my interest in making computer applications easy to use, I completed my Masters of Science in Human Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech in 2003. Although in my years in Brooklyn, New York I got no closer to a tractor than the remote control on my TV set, I worked for John Deere while at Georgia Tech, helping design a mobile text entry system and gathering tacit knowledge from lawn care workers.
I have designed a color-coded parking map of Manhattan, submitted articles on culture and hiking to major magazines and newspapers, and am a songwriter with recordings by Denyse Plummer, Verdict, and a song on the soap opera All My Children.
I like and admire Federico Fellini, Ana Caram, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Ralph Thamar, Joe Jackson, the New York Giants, Don Norman, Phil Patton, Tim Cahill, Tony Earley, Truman Capote, John Sayles, Terry Gilliam, Atom Egoyan, Rene Magritte, Yves Tanguy, Isamu Noguchi, Barney Frank, Peter Karp, and Lisa Hunt, who I married in May, 2004. This is us with our pug, Sadie, and our son, Noah, shown at 3 days old!
