Zoomology: This team project was a first-place winner in the IEEE 2003 InfoVis contest. Zoomology aids the discovery of differences between two classification databases of the animal kingdom--each with about 200,000 animals.
Zoomology features twin zoomable detail windows in which ovals represent individual animals. Their evolutionary descendants are also shown as
ovals, placed within the parent. Animals are color-coded by rank, such as Phylum, Species and SubSpecies.The large window at the bottom of the page shows the union of the two trees.
